I’ve followed my curiosity as a journalist, attorney, and creative director.
I began my career as a news anchor and political reporter, covering the 2008 Iowa Caucuses and general election. I earned two AP Awards and two Emmy nominations for my work. I was also a member of our station's team that won an Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting.
After the 2008 election, I attended law school at Duke University. I've used my legal expertise to tell stories at the intersection of politics and development. In 2011, I wrote and directed Forced Out, a short documentary about internally displaced persons in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.
After law school, I began my legal practice as a white-collar defense associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. I shifted gears—moving into the startup/vc space in 2015. Over the last 9 years, I’ve co-founded two companies (Apollo Scheduling + Imaginology), launched NLand Surf Park, a venture-backed wave technology company, and have counseled mission-driven founders at the early stages and orchestrated nearly $200m in early-stage financing transactions.
